There is black and white. There is complete understanding, comfort, and knowing that things will be, or will fail to be.
And then there is gray. There is the mix of light and dark, black and white, of knowing and unknown.
I have come to understand that the colors of my journey are often shrouded in a veil of gray, which is a place of growing … the grounded graceful padding of a wild cat, and the soaring of an eagle. Without the journey, the destination has little appeal to me.
I believe that possibilities, hopes, and dreams lie in the glow of this veil, and that mystery is where the magic happens.
Hi Jane,
How are you? I feel like I haven’t spoken with you in ages!
I love your artwork. It’s so expressive.
I know what you mean about being in the gray. I feel sometimes that I’m in a perpetual gray zone and the only thing I can count on is the little compass inside – my intuition. Once we realize that the destination is far less important than enjoying the journey, I find my life becomes magical. Do you have that sense too?

Hi Angela! It’s great to hear from you! I absolutely feel like gray is a good place to be. (hummm, interesting that as I look to the right I see my photo … black, white, and gray … and color in the center. 🙂
When I feel that things need to be clear cut (and realize that they seldom are), I get frustrated and find that my creativity wanes … it’s good to be in the veil of mystery, not knowing what’s next, but always knowing that it will work out for my highest good.
It’s a beautiful journey ~
Hugs,
Jane

Hi Jane,
This is deep and you are amazing. How’s your running? My training run is 10 miles tomorrow. 1/2 marathon in 5 weeks. Your healing sessions were awesome. Have a great weekend. xoxo

Hi Tess! It’s funny how sometimes the posts that just hit us at a random moment, and call to be written, are sometimes the ones that I tend to go back to and try to understand a little further.
Wow, 10 miles is awesome! I’m proud of you for continuing your work toward this half!
I’ve been spending every spare minute getting my work done for healing touch certification later this year, so haven’t been running … even so, it is truly hard on my jaw joints, so think I enjoy riding my bike better 🙂 Still … I do need a bigger box!
Please let me know any time you (or your family) need another session … I’ll be more than happy to do it for you.
Hugs, Tess …

Life
is all about the color, gray,
parts of opposites
pulled from both ends of the spectrum.
Life
is all about
playing in the middle.
I love “playing in the middle” … both ends of the spectrum … I’m grateful that my life has been filled with many, many colors, and that I can appreciate them all.
Love you, mom!

Jane I like to think of my life as a water color pallet most of the time but I guess this may be what you explain and gray!!

Yes, Valerie ~ watercolors, blending, fading, swirling … the brilliant white of absence, and the delight in finding what will happen if I try mixing these three colors together …

Gray is a good place to be, I guess that´s where I am too. What a sweet, deep and short post you have here.
I was just thinking about you yesterday and how I had to check your blog when I found your comment! How cool is that? I too don´t have much time for many blogs, but I´ll always come back to yours every now and then to see what you´ve been up to 🙂
So glad that we’re both too busy living … creating … doing good things to get to all the lovely blogs we’d like to. So glad, also, that there are some we can visit from time to time, like an old friend, always happy to see us.
Take special good care, Marilia
Love,
Jane
