Teeny Tiny Pieces Posts

Space to Breathe

I’m at my sister’s river cottage in Virginia.  It’s incredibly good here … I can breathe.

The past year has been pretty intense.  A good dose of expectation, dedication, and hard work.

This morning a cold wind is blowing, and the sun brightens the sky among the dense and patchy clouds, silhouetting the bare winter trees.

Here in the sweet cozy kitchen, the kettle is warming water … and will soon whistle, letting me know it’s time for a fresh cup of tea.

I’ve been doing process work late into the quiet nights, with Laura Hollick’s Shamans Palette … it’s surprisingly introspective work, very good for me on every level.  With each class I learn more about myself and where I want to be … more about how my teeny tiny pieces fit together, honoring each of them … the pleasant and the not so pleasant.  All part of me, all carrying me deep into my journey, and back out into the world again.   Stronger, more aware, more fully prepared to step forth.

I glance to my left and see the river flowing freely outside the window.  The water glistens, tiny sunbursts sparkling from its surface.  Though wind and rocks offer resistance, earth’s gravity keeps the water flowing forward, toward a bigger river, toward the ocean … free and open water, ebbing and flowing as dictated by the sun and moon.    With plenty of space to breathe.

Much gratitude,

Love,
