Every Wednesday, the incredibly talented Jamie Ridler, of Jamie Ridler Studios, posts a Wishcasting prompt.
I’ve made a place, a beautiful page on my blog, to cradle my wishes and dreams.
Some weeks I answer her prompt, and some weeks I don’t quite get to it. On the days when I do make time to honor my wishes and dreams, they’ll be here, on the Wishcasting Wednesday page of my blog.
So here’s to my Wishcast for July 4, 2012 ~
Wishcasting Wednesday: What Do You Wish To Become?
I wish to become that which I have not even yet imagined. I wish to become the best of each beautiful soul who has given me some bit of their experience, their life, their spirit.
I wish to become a source of light, of healing, of creativity and information, of unconditional love for any who seek. I wish to become a woman of strength and integrity.
I wish to honor and acknowledge the times that my journey has diverged from what I thought it should be … only to find out that I am, today, right where I am supposed to be.
I wish to become a source ~
I’ve looked to many people in my life. When I was a little girl I learned as I watched Lena making soap in her old kitchen, and my mom tending her herbs, and singing at the kitchen window ~ both artists ~ a charmed life I’ve lived.
As an adult, the intensity of my experiences heightens. The more willing I am to seek, to listen, and to see, the more becomes available for me.
When I make the choice to step into an unfamiliar studio and say hello … when I make the choice to send an email to someone I admire, but have never met, just to let them know how deeply their work moves me … more becomes available.
I am super-excited that in just TWO DAYS!! (okay, exclamation points don’t go in the middle of a sentence, but I’m an artist, so who cares?) … in just two days, the first of my “First Fridays Artist Interviews” will be featured here on teenytinypieces!
On the first Friday of June, I was in Asheville, at a workshop with Elizabeth St. Hilaire Nelson. Can I just say, Elizabeth gets things done! She has inspired me from the moment I first laid eyes on her collages, and every time I talk to her, or we exchange emails, I want, more and more, to live the biggest, most creative life I can imagine!
She helps me remember what I want to become.
Since First Fridays has become synonymous with art walks, music, and lots of other creative goodness, I decided to begin a First Fridays interview series, sharing some of my favorite creative and inspirational people.
So … if you generally just check in for Wishcasting Wednesday, you might want to subscribe via email or rss, or follow me on facebook, so that you’ll be sure to see each of the upcoming artist interviews. I’ve selected artists from a variety of backgrounds who have inspired me … and changed my life in so many ways.
Elizabeth will be the first featured artist … this Friday, July 6!
Here’s a taste of the talent, energy, and passion Elizabeth brings to everything she does.
